Details: The first mid week run for 2013 is a run up to the Central Coast on the Old Pacific Highway as far as Kariong then down to Woy Woy and Umina for Patonga to relax and enjoy Fish & Chips on the porch overlooking Pittwater as far as West Head.  After lunch the route winds it way back to the city with afternoon tea an option at the Pie in the Sky above the Hawkesbury River.

MID NORTH COAST RUN TO GLOUCESTER  *** New addition to the Events Calendar (19 Jan)
Officially the run will start from Maccas at the Taree Service Centre, Glenthorne meeting at 11:15 and leaving at 11:45 for the run to Gloucester via Tinonee and Krambach.     We’ll have lunch at Hillview Herb Farm, cnr Fairbairns Lane and Bucketts Way, Gloucester from 1.30 to 3.00  ( http://www.gloucestermarkets.com/ads/hillview/index.html  ) and then travel to Nabiac where the run will officially end.   
Those of us joining the run from the North will meet at the Port Macquarie Service Centre Maccas at 9:30 for a 10:00 am start.  We will travel south via Coopernook, Landsdown and Cundletown to join the main run at Glenthorne.  Following the end of the official run, we’ll head north via the Hannam Vale and Stewart’s River Roads to the John’s River Tavern, maybe and then home.   
If you have a UHF/CB radio, please bring it along.

RPM BATHURST 12HR PRODUCTION RACE CAR WEEKEND
Meet: McDonalds Panther Carpark, Mulgoa Road, Penrith
Time:  6.30am for 7.00am sharp depart
Details: We’re crossing the mountains for a weekend of spectating and socialising at the Bathurst 12hr Race. On the Saturday, we will be participating in a parade lap of the circuit. Overnight will be at the Kelso Hotel. Sunday is race day and we plan to see the start and finish, with a lunch tour to Orange in between. A 3-day pass is available free to the drivers, while the cost for passengers is $50 for a 3-day pass

Details:   What Terrific Fancy-dress Are You wearing to Berry?  An annual fun run organised by the BreakFast Club.  A crazy spirited 200km run where you have a ball driving your MX-5 on as many back roads as practical up, down and across the escarpment and farms in the Wollondilly, Southern Highlands, Illawarra and South Coast for two hours wearing a silly hat and/or outrageous costume to Berry for breakfast.  Prizes will be awarded as in a Primary School fancy dress parade for those willing to leave their inhibitions in the closet and take to the road in their fives.

Details: Join the first Illawarra Chapter event for 2013 – the ‘Haywards to Husky’ run.  
We will cruise through the Calderwood area before heading up tranquil Macquarie Pass to Kangaroo Valley, stopping there for a short regroup, then up to Cambewarra Mountain Lookout for morning tea and the view.  From there we will wind down Moss Vale road towards the coast, via Nowra, then skirt around the back of Worrigee and Currambene forest to arrive in Huskisson. Lunch, can be enjoyed in either Huskisson Pub (recently renovated) or the RSL club, overlooking the beautiful Voyager Memorial Park and Jervis Bay.  Both offer good quality / value food with a wonderful to enhance the flavour. Walk off lunch with a stroll through the local shops or the park and then head for home. Shopaholics can take the Princes Hwy via Berry, those who like to spend money in shops could take the Bolong Rd route home via Gerringong.

An early start from Eastern Creek heading west on the Great Western Highway to the Blue Mountains and meeting up with the newly formed RPM Chapter at Glenbrook.  We leave Glenbrook at 8.45.  From Glenbrook we will head to Hartley Courthouse, Hartley - arrive at 9.50 and depart at 10.10.
BYO drinks and morning tea.
Toilets available at Hartley. Please bring your own drinks and morning tea
From Hartley the run continues down Jenolan Caves Road all the way to the Caves House.
The Sydney run ends here.

It’s a joint run meeting up with the BreakFast Club similar to the Walnut Run in 2012.  The run will take the Old Pacific Highway as far as Appin Road and then head up to the Southern Highlands to join up with the RPM at Picton Railway Station and proceed to meet BreakFast Club at around 12noon at Tennessee Apple Orchard.  From the orchard, the run will head to lunch at a venue chosen by RPM and afternoon tea at a venue selected by the Run Leaders on the day.

Details:   
Sydney is joining the Hunter Chapter on their bi-annual meet with members from MX-5 Club of Queensland in the NSW Northern Rivers.  The run is for the four day Easter Break , with the option of staying over longer for anybody who wishes to enjoy a leisurely drive home down the coast or through the New England region on their way home.               
Day 1 will be a run up to Grafton followed by 2 days of runs with the Hunter Chapter and Queensland members around the Northern Rivers and Tablelands and a run home on Easter Monday.  The run will include some of the best MX5 roads in our State including a chance to run up the Oxley Highway to Walcha, the “Corkscrew” between Nymboida and the Dorrigo Plateau plus Thunderbolts Way and the Gibraltar Ranges outside Grafton.
Sydney will organise a short run up the F3 from Mt Colah to the BP Beresfield on the first day of the event, or you are free to travel to the top of the F3 at your convenience. For further details go to the ‘More info’ page for the Hunter Chapter when posted

:  The route takes us from a place favoured by Gen X,Y & Z to a venue favoured by bushrangers and convicts at St Auburns on a Saturday morning run.  The run heads up to Springwood on roads less travelled then back down to cross the Hawkesbury River and run the length of the Hawkesbury Valley towards Wisemans Ferry before recrossing the river on the Webb’s Creek Ferry for the drive up to St Auburns on sealed roads for either brunch or lunch at your option with the pilgrims cruising down from St Ives.

The route takes the pilgrims from a place seen by some as close to heaven, St Ives Village Shopping Centre, to the Settlers Arms a bushranger retreat at St Auburns on a Saturday morning.  The run heads down through Bobbin Head then across to Dural by Galston Gorge to pick up any late starters for a run down to Pitt Town then back along the south bank of the Hawkesbury River to the Webb’s Creek Ferry for the drive up to St Auburns on sealed roads for either brunch or lunch at your option.

There will also be an opportunity for free time on Saturday afternoon for those wanting to participate in the various activities of Foodweek around Orange on that weekend.

BreakFast MX2013 - THE ALPS & GREAT OCEAN ROAD TOUR
Meet:   Pheasants Nest Service Centre, Hume Highway, Southbound
Time:  
7.00am for 7.30 am start
Details
:  A five day 3000km spirited jaunt on as many tight and technical sections of road that we can cram in starting with a run up to and around a section of the Snowy Mountains on Day One.  A drive down the Bonang Highway from Dalgety to Omeo then through East Gippsland and along the Victorian coast to cross over from Sorrento to Queenscliff by ferry then on to Lorne on Day Two.  A cruise on the Great Ocean Road out to the Twelve Apostles then an inland route  to Bright on Day 3.  A run up Mt Hotham to Omeo and backup to Falls Creek followed by a drive along the Kiewa Valley to the Murray River to do another section of the Snowy Mountains to Cooma on Day Four and home on Day Five

Sat 25 RPM RPM CHAPTER - BLUE MOUNTAINS' CROSSING CELEBRATION BBQ

Details: 2013 is the bicentenary of the crossing of the Blue Mountains - centre of the RPM country.  On 25th March, we will hold a BBQ to view "The Bicentenary Flyover" - a flyover crossing of the Blue Mountains by 300 aircraft. The BBQ will be held at the premises of Blue Mountains Mazda, sponsors of the RPM Chapter and the MX5 Club of NSW. Following the BBQ, we will have our own crossing of the Mountains before heading home

Details:  Do you feel a competitive urge? Are you wanting to take your alleged driving skills to a new (lower) level? Or just have a great bit of fun? Well the Karting afternoon organised by the Illawarra Chapter may be just your chance. Forget the grand prix at Albert Park – the Illawarra Chapter’s Jinba Ittai Challenge at Picton is the event for 2013. The event should finish around 3.30pm – 4.00 pm and following the action at the track we will adjourn to the nearby Menangle Pub for a ‘boasting’ session and a meal.
